Sleep and Resource Management

Sleep and resource management

Neurova simulates a human sleep-wake cycle to manage resources intelligently.

Sleep stages (human brainwave model)

StateBrainwaveFrequencyDescription
AwakeBeta13-30 HzFull functionality, normal responsiveness
Light sleepAlpha8-13 HzReduced frequency, low-priority tasks
Deep deliberationTheta4-8 HzMemory sorting and consolidation
REMGamma30+ HzCreative association, dream generation

Core features

  • Automatic sleep — enters different sleep stages as idle time accumulates
  • Manual control — users may trigger any sleep state on demand
  • Brainwave visualization — a live animation reflects the current cognitive state
  • Multi-agent support — each agent manages its own sleep policy independently
  • Scheduled wake-up — planned tasks can trigger a wake-up at a set time

How hibernation is implemented

  • idle_tracker.py — idle detection, kicks off the sleep consolidation chain
  • sleep.py / sleep_adapter.py / sleep_writeback.py — five sleep stages plus memory write-back
  • The sleep settings page (SleepSettingsPage) — threshold gating, conflict records and a resolve endpoint
